Hey, as you might've figured out already my name's Dan. Being a touchy-feely straight guy, the most important body asset that a woman could have is a great pair of breasts, and has a 'bit of meat' on her in general. Some good "celebrity" examples would be Carmella Bing, Tessa Fowler, Anissa Kate, Shion Utsunomiya, Sensual Jane. These would be the kind of women I'd recruit for top modeling jobs to represent the pinnacle of beauty.

Unfortunately this is not the common standard in real life, where either extreme is promoted instead; the large majority of 'top models' are either flinter thin OR they let go of maintaining the "great pair, bit of meat" state and become "plus size" instead. But to be fair, yeah it is hard work to constantly maintain, and everyone should have the freedom to follow their sexual preferences, how they want to go through life etc.

Disappointed with this reality, I sought refuge in the world of anime where nothing is held back or twisted/manipulated by said reality; everything is possible. To say that my needs have been met through this goes a bit far, but I did come across some very talented + like-minded artists who were blessed with the skills to visualize it in great detail, and for that I am glad.

There's real value in collecting figures and goods, sometimes literally if the price goes up in the aftermarket, but especially in the coping sense. In this world that I've created for myself, I can be honest about how I feel and surround myself with what aligns with that, without having to worry about betrayal brought on by inevitable and eventual change (human nature, c'est la vie). Purity, freedom, identity...these are the true keys to happiness. And with those 3 intact, the downsides are manageable in comparison.

Of course it would be terribly shallow if it was all about the body and nothing else, so I will say that personality wise, the easier it is to tease a woman and be flirty with, the better. On the other hand I'm also a huge sucker for the caring Onee-San type (ARA ARA) and yes, the jealous type. Some girls may look the part, but if they don't vibe with me on a personal level then I'm much less inclined to collect stuff of them.

I consider all the ones you see here to be of 'waifu tier' quality but if you told me that I had to choose 1 waifu out of all my favorites for something exclusive (such as a life size figure) then I'd pick Azur Lane's Taihou. Azur Lane is unmatched in the sense that it has a big range of these waifu tier girls for anyone's preferences overall, but just about anything produced by Azarashi Soft / Atelier Kaguya / Squeez (Milk Factory) / Hadashi Shoujo really hits the spot in the waifu department for me personally. When a character in an eroge / game or anime / manga hits waifu tier, I try to buy at least 1 item of her as my way of appreciating them and the artist. The rest is comprised of OC's that I really like the looks of.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what my collection is based on in a nutshell. There are a bunch of unmentioned smaller details that I love like the maid / teacher themes, or how sexy birthmarks are on certain spots of the female body, but it would simply take too long to mention it all. So, this will have to do! ;)

Demigod_DanVor 5 Tagen#101318045Ay np :) and indeed! I was tempted to get this figure + the Albedo one ITEM #1074403 as well, but yeah glad I waited and saw the actual looks of them irl first cause I would've been disappointed for sure for that kinda money. They are making some interesting Neon theme ones for Rem/Ram/Emilia atm but dear lord the price tag lol: ITEM #1235451 (doesn't come close to the crystal dress one either, but maybe that's just me).
I really like the Albedo one as well. She looks so good and elegant in that one. The neon theme figures are pretty cool in my opinion, but they're kind of random. The price for those are even more insane than the crystal dress. I personally prefer the crystal dress over the neon because it has nothing to do with the story and slightly cheaper. At this point in time, I'm still debating on whether to take a risk and pull the trigger on Red Emilia or not. Who knows, maybe Shabuya Sramble will get their head out of their ass and fix the shit the messed up on with the first blue crystal dress. If I do order the figure and it turned out like the blue one, I only have myself to blame. lol

ErikkuVor 6 Tagen#101270372Thanks for the article. I agree with the fact that they cut corners with the production compared to promo pictures. It's a shame with such a beautiful figure. I wonder if they will fix this issue with their second line of crystal dress since many people are having issues with it.

Demigod_DanVor 6 Tagen#101267659Yoyo :) Oh it's full now but your pm did go through haha, BLOG #49732 here's the review article on Amelia! For me, the difference between promo pics and actual product regarding the dress lower end color highlights + stars being of varied quality is what mainly killed this potential figure purchase for me. For the asked price you'd expect some parts like the dress to be more translucent instead of looking pretty much like a regular single paintjob, which means not "premium" as the adverts and promo pics would have you believe. :P

Hey what's up Dan!

I guess your inbox was indeed full. lol Thanks for the tips on messaging. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the site. I read the help page and played around a little bit.

Also, I think I saw the article regarding EStream figures we talked about briefly in PQT. I don't know if it was the same one that you were referring to. I saw a couple of your comments in the article as well. It seems like people were more of complaining about the price in comparison to quality as opposed to anything else. It almost felt like people were nitpicking when on the contrary the Estream figures are not that bad. It is indeed overpriced but I guess if someone really like the certain character and the figure, then I would say it's justifiable.

I looked at your profile and you weren't kidding about your extensive dakimakura collection. Your figure collection is also mind blowing as well. I don't even want to think how much all those merch would cost. lol

I've heard of Tetsuo, but I havn't gotten around watching it just yet. I really want to but I think I wasn't able to find a torrent.

Oh something I forgot to say, yeah true about the first Tetsuo (it has 2 sequels, Body Hammer which was awful imo and Bullet Man which was decent, banging soundtrack too). So I bought it for myself as my CHRISTMAS GIFT lmfao, on DVD (best Xmas I've ever had). I reckon this will get very expensive and will be a real collector's item given how relevant the plot is to now and the future that awaits us, so I do really recommend picking up the first one on DVD if you can. Definitely worth the money man even if tight on it, I am near certain that the ending will especially resonate with you :P this is a true work of art in cinematic form. The soundtrack is equally unique, a few examples:

RIP Chu, absolute fucking legend.

Oh yeah, in line with the black/white themed movie and Wicked City being high up on your list, Check out the movie Sin City if you haven't yet ;)

so either ecchi or philosophical-dark? it's hard because ecchi is poorly made these days. philosophical anime is rare and often shits the bed... hmm

Yeah basically this part sums it up perfectly doesn't it, lol. Like I'd say my problem = I've very likely seen the best quality stuff for each genre I'm interested in, so now I get turned off too quickly by the stuff I haven't seen yet. Instead I spend my days recreating girls from these animes in great detail on Koikatsu now, like it's hard to top a girl like Chisato in the ecchi department for example (I reckon my design of her is the best out there :P), so in the above context that's why I haven't even bothered watching Hagure Yuusha for example. Looked at the character design and just said nope xD

The only one that I haven't seen yet which sparks my interest on that shortlist is Kokkoku, I will check this one out ;). Devilman is another one I purposely skipped because it struck me as one of those "focuses too much on gore with the rest being an excuse for it" animes, and that one doesn't have a character like Anderson in it to kinda carry the show (for me personally). I had the same issue with Invincible, the Amazon animated show except that had woke stuff blended in on top of it so yeah it ain't improving is it haha.

Also it might be just me but I think the Gantz author struggles with nihilism a little too much and his works might be the only thing that keep him alive (no idea what their background is, just get that feeling based on several factors in his works). Nice to hear he's working on something new :P.

And ugh it pains me to see just how dead in the water the whole animated ecchi scene is; in the west you got creators purposely making their characters look mediocre at best and usually ugly (it's not like there were any expectations from the west in the first place though), and in the east they refuse to put a lot of budget in it anymore because the group of interest isn't large (profitable) enough.

Especially hentai is taking blow after blow for the last few years now; during the aftermath period of Japan's economic boom good stuff came out for a while but eventually it seems like these animation companies concluded that the invested budget isn't worth it for the returns they got (if that, most went bankrupt lol). So now all the rights to animate the best / most popular H-game works are going to these super low tier remaining animation companies meaning they're effectively forever dooming them since it means an actually good future animation company won't be able to do it instead. Honestly RoH only appealed on a larger scale because of its 'questionable' sex acts aka it garnered a female crowd (lol) and yeah, I watched it to try and make-do with the few good parts but man it's still a far cry from what I'm into.

Finally, these are not personal recommendations but something you might be into: Black Lagoon, High-Rise Invasion, Deadman Wonderland. Then a few I was into but have long been cancelled = Freezing and Btooom! And we're likely not going to get animes like that anymore either, given the direction of the industry (also probably ties in with the ero budget for H-animations part). Btooom only getting 1 freaking season was kinda my wake-up call that I'm just not the target audience when it comes to proper long-term animes heh. Kadokawa has the monopoly on this shiz now and something like Hensuki and RoH is the best they can do from recent times. :|

I think the reason for p5 not being ported (at least yet) is sony. only time will tell, nocturne made it to pc after all
I havn't seen gantz itself, but I watched gantz0, then read the manga. it was a wild ride, esp the last arc. I loved it.
gantz0 is censored unfortunately, they got rid of one my alltime fav moments when the guy drowned in tits.
the author is drawing a manga about an ultraman style giant naked woman currently. she's a pornstar by occupation.
I watched parasyte, it was one of the best anime experiences I had, then the last 2 eps felt unnecessary. I had a blast with it anyway haha
I loved hellsing ultimate, watched it exactly at a time when I kept binging bad looking seasonals. it felt so refreshing.
mardock scramble saw this one but I can't recall much by now since it's been years. I like cyberpunk in general btw.
oh hey, I was meant to watch alice in borderland! thanks for reminding me haha
Wicked City I watched this one early on, probably the best horror themed anime I've seen.
I'm a huge Ichi fan. started with the live action, then read the manga. then I learned about the anime years later and watched it too.
I've heard of Tetsuo, but I havn't gotten around watching it just yet. I really want to but I think I wasn't able to find a torrent.

so either ecchi or philosophical-dark? it's hard because ecchi is poorly made these days. philosophical anime is rare and often shits the bed... hmm
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi: it's borderline hentai with the mc having a boner for revenge. it's funny, unintentionally sometimes. the ecchi parts are well animated at least. make sure it's the uncensored version.
Ishuzoku Reviewers has became famous as something streaming sites refused to air. borderline hentai as well. there's no way you havn't heard of these two yet.
Killing Bites is more of an action anime than anything else, but it gets very lewd at times. the show is the definition of dumb fun.
Prison School: another huge hit. it's ecchi with comedy in the center. it's more about the jokes than boobs though.
Shinmai Maou no Testament: my alltime fav ecchi series, it has a story, tons of twist and the action is more intense than usual. it's similar to DXD but the mc doesn't reject women here.
hagure yuusha: same author as shinmai's, it's also action+ecchi. the mc is smug and entertaining.
serious stuff:
Inuyashiki: gantz's author's work. an old man and a nihilistic guy gets rebuilt as cyborgs.
Kokkoku: this one is about a world frozen in time, and the few people stuck in it slowly understanding how they can utilize it against eachother.
Devilman: Crybaby: the timeless tale, everyone heard of devilman. the soundtrack is really good. the art is wonky as hell sometimes. they got rid of the manga's monster of the week formula and made every fight count.
the last two are huge names as well.
kizumonogatari: bakemonogatari's prequel. I found bake to have it's ups and downs depending on the arc, and no doubt the most pretentious garbage there is. kizu is nothing like that. the movie has amazing visuals, plenty of ecchi and gore. it's everything I wanted from the series.
Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel: the 1st movie is lame as hell. the 2nd had my jaw on the floor, the 3rd is rushed really badly. 2nd one has action, drama, ecchi and gore. it's very dark. I consider that to be the best entry in the whole fate franchise, but I'm not big on fate in general.
I'd also like to mention psycho pass season 1, it's very philosophical. a cyberpunk world similar to equilibrium and minority report. it was well done, but you can see the ending from miles away.
I know I listed some of the most mainstream entries, but there aren't many anime I enjoyed from recent years.

Ayyy! Damn that's unexpected though, I would've put money on them porting P3 and P5 instead. Might just sell my Switch though because I honestly bought it for SMT5 and it's annoying to try so hard to find an excuse to keep this thing lol. If that Pokemon Arceus game is Switch exclusive that'd be the 1 solid excuse I think.

Also great! I'll be sure to recommend what little anime stands out to me from time to time then. Blood-C also has a movie which follows up on where the anime ends so be sure to not miss that one either :) and I assume you've watched Gantz already but if not then you gotta get in on that asap since that has a bunch of stuff you'll like for sure. An instant recommend as well is Parasyte (Kiseijuu) but I reckon you've already seen this too.

Idk if I can fully recommend it, but Hellsing Ultimate was above average with the good part being a character named Anderson (could be a personal thing though), that thicc Scottish accent while doing the stuff he does was chef's kiss worthy lol.

Mardock Scramble wasn't exactly filled with gore, but it did have some freaky moments in it which made it stand out from your regular everyday cookie cutter anime. Impressive graphical design set in a dystopian universe with some unintentional comedy = a win for me. If Cowboy Bebop was something you liked, this has similar vibes to it except this is more...weird. Basically skip the live-action CB and watch this instead xD

Based on a webtoon and not an actual anime, the live-action version of Sweet Home was actually cool. I guess it can be counted as a little bit of anime, and this does have that dark gritty setting which is so often absent in anime nowadays. Also doesn't mess up towards the end like Alice in Borderland's live-action season did.

Wicked City (2 movies) is like a short period of time when anime seemed bound for great things if this was a precedent of times to come, except it never came. The epitome of a dark and gritty atmosphere, aside from some cucked protag behaviour this is like the father of dark/gritty anime. Yeah, we really could've done with some more stuff like this one.

The best example I can think of that marks the peak of said period is Ichi the Killer: Episode Zero (sadly only 1 episode exists, not even a season). It all went downhill from here and 20 years later here we are with garbage 'horror' attempts like Finding Neverland and Made in Abyss. I don't think people can recognize how much of a downgrade this is because they haven't experienced said period from late 80s to early 2000s 'dark' anime. I bet you can though :P

Well, that's about it. I'm much better at movie recommendations lol; Tetsuo is like the Akira of actual movies for example and is a must-watch (also relevant for our current and upcoming future). A lot of non ecchi anime is often either too tame (made for TV), or focuses so much on just the gore that the rest is like an excuse for it which is pretty much my issue with Hellsing for example. Basically I either watch something for the eye candy (ecchi) so I don't have to be completely turned off by the plot, or it has to be a somewhat complex and/or philosophical anime (important: not pretentious, which is sadly mistook often for that) with a generally dark/disturbing theme. Sadly that leaves few options open especially with the 'moe' direction of today in anime (and pandering to the cute girls doing cute things crowd). Is there a fairly recent one that really stood out for you?

P.S. Basically yes Aika's director is a genius xD
