    theyasminshow (Vor 10 Monaten) #19114601Er, yes. You're waiting for the product to reach where it's being sold from (US, EU, etc), and then shipped to you from there. In order to keep costs low for this process, the cheapest methods of transport are used from Japan to the shop's location - think shipping by boat, which takes several months.
    The alternative would be too costly. If they paid to have all those heavy, huge Aobas shipped via EMS and then redistributed, you're looking at a giant price tag.
    I'm sorry for everyone who's still waiting, but understand this is how the process works.

    talking about this, what about sites like TOM that have a warehouse in Japan? ;o I was thinking about this earlier so I thought I'd ask

    Shipping costs half of Aoba's asking price because the US store I ordered from used EMS to ship him from Japan so yeah.

    AkiKitazawa (Vor 10 Monaten) #19072224Yeah I did. I'm used to a 1-2 month delay from them. This is the first time it gets delayed that much which is indeed ridiculous. They can't help it sadly as they are dependent on Native themselves.

    Shiro-Marusu (Vor 10 Monaten) #19049142Did you order from Archonia? I think the giant delay of this release date is quite ridiculous but I have no experience with pre-ordering limited figures so maybe it's just me.

    AkiKitazawa (Vor 10 Monaten) #18979789Aaah man, the website I ordered from pushed back his release date to May >.< Which is a horrible month for me even. Ugh, I hope I'll have the money for everything ;.;

    Thank you.

    A huge thank you to everyone who supported and bought native's first ever male figure!! :'D

    They know where their bread is buttered. Seeing other companies jump on making erotic male figures (even if the other options are basically all trap-ish compared even to Aoba who isn't exactly a bear of a guy) means they'll most likely make more. (Personally I'd like to see Native tackle an original male illustration!)

    Japan is pretty patriarchal, LGBT rights and women's rights are about where they were in the late 80's for the US/UK. Figure collecting (and even things like BJD collecting, especially Volks DD line) is seen as mostly a straight male hobby, despite the fact that the evidence is everywhere that women (and LGBT people of all stripes) are massive consumers of the stuff in Japan (and abroad of course). Even if Aoba had sold moderately well instead of the massive record-breaking popularity he had, I doubt we'd be seeing companies that interested. Luckily people were thirsty for erotic male figures and Aoba appealed to a wide variety of people who were just like "I may not know the character/like the series/like the overall design, but I want the plastic dick anyway!" in addition to his hardcore fanbase. :P
