We are good to go. AmiAmi has been excellent for shipping for me unless the figure is very large. Where do you live?
I live in Italy. When I import games from Japan, I always use Amazon.co.jp because it uses DHL but it has shipping fees in line with (if not better then) what I would pay for EMS. This is also because EMS shippings always get import fees to be paid (perhaps with SAL they could be avoided sometimes, but it isn't available).
For Kaguya Nendoroid, I spent around 22€ shipping fees + 30€ import fees (DHL from AmiAmi). On Amazon.co.jp, if I try to make an order for a similar Nendoroid (e.g. Yotsuba Nakano), I would pay 13€ for shipping, and 10€ for import fees. And the courier is DHL as well.

I ordered her from AmiAmi (even though I would have preferred to use Amazon.co.jp, because I am finding their shipping/import fees much better), so I doubt there will be delays depending on the distributor. For example, the Kaguya nendoroid was delayed multiple times by the manufacturer, but as soon as it was available AmiAmi shipped it.

I don’t know about Wave specifically, but the reveal being shortly before release won’t have anything to do with a delay. Many manufacturers announce a figure a few months prior to release. The reason will either be the pandemic or some other issue. I have had some figures release on time and others that are still delayed since June. Every figure I have ordered from Japan has been released on time, except for one, which was only pushed back a few weeks. Most of the delays (from what I have been experiencing) have been from receiving the figures from other countries. My figures delayed since June have long since been released in Japan.
