JenthehenVor 5 Tagen#80091947You definitely should! A lot of people say it starts out slow but stick with it - it has amazing character development and romance!

For sure. I know all too well about sticking with anime. Haha. Ergo Proxy was one of the best masterpieces I have ever seen, and I almost gave up. After ten episodes it was still moving at a snail’s pace, but after that it was like a rollercoaster drop.

JenthehenVor 6 Tagen#80091505The problem with DITF is that it turned out that the creators didn't have ANY of their own ideas. They just pulled elements that worked well from other shows (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Eureka Seven, Gundam, Kill la Kill, etc.) without any understanding as to what made those elements work and have meaning in those anime.
I had such high hopes for DITF - it seemed like it was going to say something really interesting about sexuality and relationships, but it most certainly did not. For awhile, it seemed like it might say something really conservative / backwards about them (only traditional heterosexual relationships that result in babies are valid!) but THEN in the end, it turned out nothing meant anything and LOL ALIENS! It was a total train wreck - a glossy, attractive train wreck, but still.
Zero Two is gorgeous but she's just a discount Anemone. Anyone who liked DITF even a little really ought to watch the original Eureka SeveN anime - it deals with the same themes (love/relationships/environmental issues/interspecies stuff) only a million times better.

JuuzousAnimegirlVor 6 Tagen#80091256Which is funny because I really enjoyed the first half and for me the show just lost everything I liked about it in the second half. And it's just a popularity thing because Zero Two was best waifu from the show and her character design is amazing. One sold for a high price so everyone jumped on that band wagon. Glad I preordered her nendoroid way back when it first came out.
Overall, it was just so scattered and over the top to me. Like, “what is even happening?” Like they just threw shit together and called it a story. And the whole thing with the girls being on all fours and making sexual noises when piloting the Franxx was ridiculous. Like, come on. Also, them not knowing what attraction meant. It’s not like they were robots. Even if not exposed to textbooks, human nature would make them know what that meant. Just the whole premise was stupid to me. But I enjoyed the backstory and finding out that they knew each other as kids. And that she was tortured. But it didn’t make sense that she called him Darling, yet had no memory of him because it was erased. The story would make a lot more sense and be more meaningful if she remembered him but didn’t tell him or something. Lastly, I thought the fights were weak. There was no strategy. And they didn’t even train. They just went out and somehow knew how to fight these things. I’m not a big fan of Gundam in general, so that may be part of it. I continued the story for the relationship aspect of it. Certainly not the action, if you can even call it that. Sorry to bitch about it. But those were my complaints. I like the figures better than the anime, and I would not recommend it to people. There are so many other great anime. Haha. And congrats on getting the figure ahead of time. I PO everything I really want now, but she was released before I got big into PO figures.

Man, DITF was SO BAD, but the character designs are SO GOOD. I wonder if Ichigo's figures will eventually skyrocket, too, since I don't think any companies are going to be making more DITF figures.

Sometimes I feel bad for her nendoroid and think I should buy it but I think my good smile scale will be enough xD
