TeTe (Vor 5 Monaten) #43204261Patience is a double edged sword as you are risking of something you want to be sold out.
High school fleet is not super popular but it does have a decent fan base that is why they kept making figure after figures.
Sometimes paying the market price is an act of supporting the series you love. I’m more than ok to pay for the full price for any figure from madoka magica or to love ru darkness since I’m a fan of the series. But it is a matter of personal preference in the end. If you are not willing to pay for more than 4000 yen a figure then I guess it is ok to wait. But most likely the decent ones will be gone by then.

It usually works out ok, and if it becomes sold out, it'll show up later on somewhere. More patience alleviates the issue that the original patience may encourage.

It's not, but I did enjoy it. It was a fun series to me, so I do wish it were more popular. I'd love to see a good figure of Mashiro too.

Yes indeed. I enjoy supporting my favorite things too. It should be clear by what I've managed to collect so far that I've been supportive for quite some time. Still, preowned items can be great resources for items I desire, but maybe missed the preorder for. Either way, there are good deal to be found in most cases, but indeed supporting my favorite things is a priority as well.

spasepeepole026 (Vor 5 Monaten) #43196176All of that is what makes patience so useful. Also "High School Fleet" isn't particularly popular. I've been at this hobby for a second. Paying too much isn't necessary, in my experience.

TeTe (Vor 5 Monaten) #4319243430% off is actually a good deal for a relative new figure with high popularity. I need to state that those figures which are going for higher discount nowadays are mostly because of the diminishing demand for that particular figure. The point is, demanding for a price that fits your standard as “good deals” isn’t that reachable anymore unless you are looking for items that is no longer in demand.

spasepeepole026 (Vor 5 Monaten) #43189638She's only 30% off MSRP in this example, so it's nothing to write home about. There's a figure going for a similar price now that was nearly 15,000 yen. That's a pretty darn good deal. 7,000+ isn't that special for a 10,000 yen figure. The postulations about the very expensive figures going for such prices though would be lucky draws indeed.

TeTe (Vor 5 Monaten) #43183807I have to kindly disagree. There is a limit to how much a figure is going to be discounted as the business needs to break even with what they paid to the supplier. I highly doubt a figure that is around 13000 yen will be marked down to a merely 2000-3000 yen. Maybe if the shop is closing for business but again it is unlikely hobby shops will have online inventory clearance as such event happens mostly to physical shops. Yes occasionally you can buy a figure for 80% off but usually those figure are not from popular manufacturers and often in bad quality. I would say if you are looking for a crazy deal (70-90% off)then you have to risk it by getting a secondhand product from another customer. Back to the original post, yes with the retail price for figures nowadays 7000yen is a dirt cheap steal.
