catastrvpheHow about spreading some light joy on this random Friday night?! Let's talk about my experience with my current POs, and hopefully, it being something people can relate to!
In retrospect, I'm still new to this scene and have yet to have a full pre-order experience (I've only ever purchased in-stock or second-hand figures) until now... Two figures* that I ordered a good few months ago now are set to release this month and oh boy does it ever have me on the edge of my seat: checking my email multiple times a day even though I know I'll get the notification when I actually receive the email. I feel like a little kid again with this silly amount of excitement.
*They're a bunny girl duo from Infinity Studio, pictured on the non-database part of my profile if curious ^^
It feels great though! My planned treat to myself in the future finally has its payoff; I know that I made the right decision since I'm still this giddy about them; already planning where I'm gonna display them... This surprising passion is why I started this hobby and this is why I'll be sticking to it. The feeling's funnily indescribable.
And this all only makes me more excited about the rest of my POs. Now they'll only be a month or two behind this one, no longer many months like they used to be, and they're all figures I equally adore and cannot wait to see in person and displayed. It is however kinda crazy how fast time can pass, felt like only a month ago I was saying "ahh but March is a whole five months away..." but that's somewhat cliched of me to say.
Now, I don't know if my weirdly high level of excitement is normal across all collectors, but it's seeming like it'll be normal for me. So, taking this into consideration, I think seeing myself with my current orders will help me with weeding out impulse and FOMO purchases in the future. Making sure I'm always itching to receive my orders like I am now will definitely be something I'll keep an eye on myself for. Though, not to turn everything into a learning experience LOL.
I really hope this isn't too cheesy. I feel so silly for feeling this happy about some little figurines but here we are! Why not just celebrate what brings us happiness, yknow? Maybe once I get them I'll write my first review/update for fun...
Anyways, let's finish this off by asking about your pre-order stories! I really enjoy reading other people's experiences and bonding over shared hobbies and feelings, so... Do you currently have any approaching POs that you're getting excited about? Do you also happen to revert to your childhood excitement levels like I seem to? And finally, if you've been in this game for long enough, do you have any particular order that stood out to you compared to others for how eager you were to receive it?

I still remembered how excited I was to unbox her....

These are all AMAZING. One of my fav recent mikus, incredible BINDing ladies, a jaw-dropping statue and Tohru's bunny! But yeah AmiAmi's a major pain right now for whatever reason, however, super stoked for you and these items!!

I'm also hyped for ITEM #1552702 because of the sheer ridiculousness of the figure lol. ITEM #1425198 is GORGEOUS andITEM #1602451 is cute as well.
Though ITEM #1023009 isn't a pre-order, I bought it pre-owned with surface shipping from AmiAmi like a month ago and they still haven't shipped it out yet -_-. She's so stunning and I want her to be here NOW but AmiAmi is slow as hell so it's gonna be another decade or two before she can join the other baddies on my shelf.

If I can make a recommendation. GSC global and set it to USD. The price there is set to $130 regardless of how the yen is doing and with flat shipping they are a flat $150 each. Not just low but with EMS fast delivery which I'm starting to appreciate given amiami's delayed shipping.
ee yes this is definitely also a great feeling for me too! I'm only just starting to see the full processes of announcement to prototype to release and it's so fun seeing things turn out exactly how I'd hoped or better!

And I know the feeling lol. Almost getting a pre order makes me feel like a kid again that's going to go on a school trip haha. (Sometimes my excitement gets so severe that I can barely sleep 8D)

But she instantly became my favorite when I saw her. She's been delayed for a couple of times so I've been checking for updates and looking at her photos almost everyday. I just can't wait to have her!
Oh my god is this figure ever stunning... Surprised I've never seen her before, WOW!! Now looking forward to you getting her!

The few POs I had got delayed to a bad month for me so had to be cancelled.
During the holidays quite a few of my grails got a re-release scheduled. I'm so glad I POed everything, even with the heavy bill I had time to save up so it's ok. It's also like a Scheduled birthday haul since they'll all get released on June and July, makes it easier to spurge a little.
