Hi MFC, another Speed Review today!

I apologise for the lack of Speed Reviews recently, I had been wanting to make one all week, but I was very busy with other things. Regardless, I’m finally ready to review the second figure in this set of Madoka Magica 1/8 scales!

So, let’s begin!

Basic information:
MFC Page: ITEM #78405
Manufacturer: Good Smile Company
Retail Price: 7,429 yen
Price I paid: 10,980 yen (AmiAmi, October 2021)

- Main figure
- Alternate arms x2
- Gun
- Base

All arm pieces and gun shown below:

Features and notes:
- Much like the Madoka figure from this set, Homura has both a regular pose and a pose where she is holding her weapon.

- The base is wonderful, no complaints here.

- The head of this figure is detachable to make switching the arms easier. This feature is useful, though it’s certainly strange to look at.

- It is quite annoying to change the pose of this figure, as the design of her outfit around her shoulders makes removing her left arm very difficult.

- The seam line in her hair is very noticeable, particularly if you are looking at the figure from above.

- Very well-painted, there are only a few minor flaws.
- The sculpt is very detailed and accurate, capturing every little aspect of Homura’s character design.
- Includes two different posing options, allowing for a wider variety of photos and displays.
- The ribbons on her outfit are made of a more flexible plastic, meaning that they are less likely to break.
- The base is simple yet elegant.

- Both the left arm and the head (plus the right arm to a lesser extent) are very difficult to remove, making changing the figure’s pose quite an annoying task.
- The pose might be a little boring to some people, though I personally like it.
- The aftermarket price of this figure is significantly higher than any of the others in this set (for me, the difference was between 3,000 and 4,600 yen depending on which one you compare it to).

Overall thoughts:
I can’t award this figure the same perfect rating that I gave Madoka, simply because of how difficult it can be to change Homura’s pose. Even with that flaw though, this figure is definitely still worth it, and I would highly recommend picking it up if you’re a Madoka Magica fan.

That’s all for this review, thank you for reading!

I've always liked this Homura. But I step back due to her size. She seems shorter compared to your typical modern 1/8 scale. Regardless, this is my favorite representation along with the Ume Aoki version.

I got all the figures from the set. These are all very nice figures. I think Homura, Madoka and Sayaka look the best and have the best finishing. Got them all for 4000-6000 yen each.
