hi mfc! tonight, i'll be reviewing ITEM #758994. 2b was one of my most anticipated figures ever, mainly because of my long standing love for nier automata. i'm also very very excited for 9s to go with her, but we still have a couple months to go. this isn't about him ^_^
i don't really feel like taking a picture of amiami's postcard this month honestly but it's another silly comic. comic description amico sees a life-sized figure she wants but knows she can't afford it on a student's budget so she just asks to be promoted to manager or something lol i'm super beat cus i was just out for almost the whole day and came home to her so, excuse me if i get curt. onto the review.

nice and sleek with a huge window displaying 2b and her accessories all at once. squeenix logo in the top right, nier in the top left.
sides
picture of 2b on the right, with a faint background of the amusement park.
yorha's logo on the left. it's a lil reflective, i really dig it. adds to the overall aesthetic of the box. the amusement park bg continues here too.
back
yorha's name, logo and tagline are printed again with a reflective finish on the back window, with some copyright info. i didn't bother with top/bottom pictures this time but for reference the top face of the box has another window.
this box is gargantuan but i don't think there's a whole lot to do to avoid this. 2b is a pretty big figure herself so no ways around it. notably the box is taped with oblong stickers instead of circles. box dimensions LxWxH imperial: 12.5in x 8in x 14in
metric: 32cm x 20cm x 35.5cm

THE FIGURE
ok first of all she's fucking huge lol. i saw people in the comments saying she's pretty close to a 1/6 in terms of scale despite officially being non-scale and while i can't say that for certain without an actual 1/6 she is very very tall.
i'm getting approx. 11.5in with the base or just over 29cm.
here she is with my favourite scales (both 1/8) and a nendoroid.
2b and her pod's bases. i'm sure you can tell which is which. tbh they're pretty nice and at least not boring white or transparent acrylic. could be better but i think it works well with the figure.
her face is beautifully done honestly. i love how cleanly her lips are painted and her eyes are very striking. the beauty mark is super cute :)
overall there's just a tonne of incredible detailing. the pattern on her skirt is done beautifully, you can even see the stitching on her glove and the vane of the feathers (google tells me that's what it's called apparently)
virtuous contract is also beautifully sculpted, the wrap on its grip and the tsuba and the tassel holy fuck dude
the folds and the puff of her sleeve... the pattern above her open back is nice and sharp too.
our good buddy pod :) more of the beautiful detailing on him. you can also wiggle his little arms around which i think is incredibly funny. the metal support pole is a little garish but i can handle it with nier: automata's industrial aesthetic. also it makes me feel better about him being so up there.
her dx parts. tbh i mostly splurged on dx for the no blindfold head, i don't think i'll display her without her skirt for long at any point. i won't let it just sit in the box though i think. also to replace the body part you detach her upper torso from it and then take the legs off which has me kind of like o_o but also there's no other way to do it. so i'm settling for finding it disturbingly funny when the legs are just. There.
there are enough pics of her butt on this site :) i don't feel like taking another one. actually though the shading on her skin is beautiful. very saturated but it adds depth and finish to her skin in a way i really love. it does come off as artificial in a too-perfect way which is definitely her.
more incredible detailing on her leotard btw. just look at that fold
her pose is kinda non-actiony but i don't mind it very much. the blown skirt adds enough movement, she's fairly imposing enough with the sword. i think it suits her.

FLAWS
honestly i forgot to take pictures for this part.
but anyway i think putting her sword in is kinda finicky. it took me a while and the whole time i was worried i was gonna leave paint scuffs on the handle. in addition it's not very obvious on first glance how you're supposed to take the sword apart so you can stick the handle in her hand first, plus you have to tug a little. this is also partially my fault though because i'm the type who's stubborn and doesn't open the instructions packet.
pod's base came free with a scuff on it but it probably just happened in transit or something.
lastly i don't know if it's the lighting in my room but her hair seems a little more yellowish? in game it's a very cool colour, if i personally had to start with something darker to colour it i'd have gone for a very light blue-grey. here she kind of looks platinum blonde, and the general lack of shading on her hair doesn't help very much.

FINAL THOUGHTS
besides those, i'm very very happy with this. i love 2b a lot and i'm glad to finally get my hands on this beautiful figure of her :) the sculpt and paint is stunning and she's pretty damn big. i might have a new collection centerpiece. unfortunately i had to put her back in the box because i may or may not be moving soon (there's no reason to put new figures on display if i have to pack them a month later lol). this is also why i didn't bother to go back and take pictures for things i forgot.
anyway, sorry this is kind of a disjointed review overall but thank you for reading. know that i see every comment and even though i might not reply, i appreciate them too. have a nice night/morning/day whatever lol <3

That's exactly why I love this manufacturer as 1/6 is my preferred size. Also their sculpt is gorgeous but I agree the shading could be better.

Nothing to do with the figure but I am also not a fan of AmiAmi's silly comic postcards. I miss the art.the pods make me laugh in general overall lol they're super cute. also, i agree honestly. i wonder if they'll bring the art back for december and january at least.
