REVIEW: Portrait of Pirates "Sailing Again" Rebecca
I was chilling at home for the weekend with the lockdown (doesn't apply to me for weekdays because I am a medical frontliner) so I decided to do a short review for this figure to follow up my last review of the Megahouse POP Viola (BLOG #45090 for anyone interested).

I bought this figure pre-owned at a cheap price and she was actually my first figure to arrive for 2020. The figure features Rebecca of the One Piece series in her famous and absolutely fanservice-y (XD) gladiator outfit during the Dressrosa arc.

I am not an actual fan of Rebecca but as I have mentioned in my previous review, I am looking to build a Dressrosa arc collection so I decided to purchase her anyway. She definitely did not disappoint and I would actually consider her one of the finer female POPs out there (and the fact that she has been re-released twice speaks for itself).

THE BOX: 8.0/10
The box is a pretty pink beige with the window in the shape of a nice brick archway (like Viola's) to follow the building designs in Dressrosa. Closeup images of the figure are all over the four sides of the box.

The box is rather wide across the front and quite tall. All in all, a typical Megahouse Portrait of Pirates box.

The figure set comes with multiple parts: there are two interchangeable heads, two left hands (one with an attached shield), the main figure body, the cape, the sword and of course the base.

THE BASE: 8.0/10
Like the box, the base is also standard of the Megahouse Portrait of Pirates series - a flat octagonal plate with pegs for the figure legs. With the somewhat newer POPs though, the paint over these bases have seen a nicer sheen and gloss and not merely having a one-tone plastic colour.

Rebecca's base is a shiny silver with pink hues over the periphery.

THE SCULPT: 9.5/10
THE PAINT: 9.0/10

Rebecca's smiling face is sculpted and painted very nicely - especially her eyes and hair strands.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2409971.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2409972.jpeg

The second head with a nonremovable battle helmet is equally impressive. Her eyes are still prominent here and her serious battle expression is good. The helmet is sculpted well, and I quite like the glittery gold sheen paint on it. The details over the feathers are especially great, with the red colour transitioning to a translucent shade.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410003.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410004.jpeg

Moving down to Rebecca's chest, now THIS is what I personally consider one of the sexier and size-appropriate cleavages in the POP series (instead of the impossibly humongous replicas of melons and balloons that we get on some of them). Her gold bikini armour is sculpted well, the paint is somewhat messy as you can see over the right side of the bikini. The bikini is not a complete cast-off but it can be moved aside to reveal her breasts (careful though, because I have seen preowned Rebeccas where the neck chain snapped - no doubt from frequent exposures by owners XD). Second photo is NSFW and under spoiler - she is definitely not meant to be styled as a cast-off because they painted a mere darker tinge for her areolas without proper sculpt.

Moving even lower, we have the lower part of her bikini which is likewise also sculpted in detail with the bolts and beads, really gladiator-ish. The back of her bikini is equally sexy, covered with a single white cloth - and I love the sculpt here, the cloth looks very soft and flimsy and accentuates the tantalizing appeal of the figure's behind.

For anyone who is interested, I have included the panty shot for this figure, yes she is wearing white panties inside, nothing major.

One of my favourite part of this figure is definitely her gold armour boots, the detailed sculpt and shiny gold paint is very good and enhances the appearance of the figure as a whole. They fit on the pegs very nicely without problem.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410076.jpeg

Another thing I love about this figure is the many accessories she comes with - I love figures with several posing choices! The first accessory is her marvelous detachable teal-coloured cape. The folds over the front and back of this cape is really well sculpted and the shading is very nice. I don't know if I captured it on the photos, but paint even has a glittery appearance to it.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410078.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410077.jpeg

The second accessory is her battle shield which is attached to a left hand. The sculpt and paint over this shield is also wonderful, the wood grooves are sculpted beautifully. There is also a separate fisted left hand accessory which does not carry anything.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410083.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410082.jpeg

The final accessory is her long sword, which detaches at the hilt to fit into her hand. I love the paint over the sword with the darker black hue along the blade and the lighter grey glitters. There are many glittery parts of this figure - the helmet, the cape and the blade.

THE POSE: 10.0/10
This figure can be posed many, many ways - and I absolutely love the choices. You can have Rebecca with or without the cape, smiling or battle-ready, with or without the sword and/or shield. Of course if you want the best pose, I would say to have her with the battle helmet, shield and blade all in one. Alternatively, she still looks lovely even with the smiling face and all the weaponry.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410094.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410096.jpeg

Again, I would like to comment that her cleavage is really just right at their sexiest.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410097.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410099.jpeg

Side views of the figure.

Without the sword and shield, she is not as prominent. Still looks good regardless.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410101.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410102.jpeg

And if you want only gold and pink (or you want to pose her with only bikini-themed figures), there's always this choice of posing. XD

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410103.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/03/21/2410104.jpeg

FINAL THOUGHTS
Even as someone who is not particularly a fan of Rebecca, I find this figure to be a fantastic representative of the character - the battle pose and colour scheme is eye-catching. She is pretty common in the aftermarket, especially given the two re-releases (the latest re-release was just last year) so she's not hard to find and can be quite reasonably priced if preowned.

Her box is quite wide and tall so shipping may not be too cheap. The paintwork is just a teeny bit messy over the bikini but everywhere else seems great. There may be paint transfers over the long term if she is posed with the cape and also over her breasts given the movable bikini armour. When posed with the sword, the figure tends to take up some space due to the length of the blade pointing outward.

Overall, this is a great figure to have for a One Piece fan (we all know gladiator Rebecca is one of the famous symbols in the series). I would rate her a 9.0 out of 10.

And that's all I have for this review, hope you have enjoyed reading and that it may be teeny bit of use to those who want to know more about the figure. I don't think I will be writing more reviews for now mainly because my next upcoming figure is due in April (Koto's Tanjiro) and seeing as how the coronavirus has been affecting figure production, it may very well be delayed. I recently obtained some really nice Kimetsu No Yaiba goods so I am still wondering if I should write up my first loot post... but all good things in good time. And hope everyone stay safe out there!

PROS
- Great sculpt, accurate to character
- A great variety of poses
- Boobs not overdone, and very sexy (big PRO for me in getting her)
- Easily available in aftermarket

CONS
- Small paint bleeds over the bikini
- May take up space when posed with the sword
- High chance of paint transfers

CloudberryVor 4 Monaten#76782128Finally, a figure of a OP girl without exaggerated breasts! The battle outfit looks cool and she looks like from the anime!
I didn't know she was castoff-ish though ._.

I completely agree, she looks sexy without being lewd.
Certain users even made her a complete cast-off (but this comes at the price of permanently damaging the armour bottom).

galablueVor 4 Monaten#76740358ITEM #813035 - his second face of him smiling feels so out of place. In my opinion, the whole line's second face plates look out of place (and I feel like the poses are just boring in general ... Nezuko is probably the best out of the line).
Oh no, that's the one I am going to get, hahaha!! I do agree that the smiling Tanjiro and non-demon Nezuko face plates are out of place with their battle poses, though I do think the scared Zenitsu faceplate is great XD I also agree that Nezuko is the best out of the line (I can't wait to get her!)

That being said, I somehow think the aftermarket prices for them will be greater than the selling price (especially for Nezuko) - let's see if my prediction comes true. And I actually think the Koto line is better than the Aniplex one (if Megahouse joins the crowd, then it may be a different story).

galablueVor 4 Monaten#76739441What I love about this figure is that no matter which face you choose to display her with, her pose lends itself to the expression. This is rare, sometimes you get a battle pose with a sleepy face, or a crazy angry face with a non-dynamic pose (I'm looking at you Kimetsu no Yaiba figures!). I also really love her chest size. Very voluptuous but not over the top. A great figure over all!
Now, on a personal note...
View spoilerHide spoilerThank you for all that you are doing in the medical field. I know we're just friends through figures ... but I really care about you and I hope you're staying safe and healthy! Sending you lots of love and positivity and wishing you well through this crazy time <3

Onexpiece_heartsVor 4 Monaten#76737807Awesome review! It’s been a while since I saw something One Piece related in the article section. I’m happy to see this!
Thanks! Yeah there's definitely a lack of OP articles around here.

victorviperVor 4 Monaten#76720197I didn't realize that this figure had gotten so many re-releases, but I guess that's not surprising, given the enduring popularity of the franchise.
I'm not a huge fan of One Piece, but I always liked the design of this figure, in part because bikini armor is one of my favorite figure themes. The gold scale armor is also a neat feature.
Thanks for sharing!

No problem and thanks for reading! :)
