CanadaPost FlexDelivery Experience?Kommentare • CanadaPost FlexDelivery Experience?

Just an update. Got my package (from JP) which used the flexdelivery address. However, there was no email notification and have to call the local PO (item is already there for 3 days) to check if the parcel already arrived. I think the email notification is dependent on the pick-up location if the staff there are familiar with Flexdelivery (and update status so an email notification will be sent).

I've only used it with Amazon, and it's been perfect.

The post office needs to manually send the email or w/e. The lady who does mine is super nice haha.

Thanks for all the feedback/replies. Glad to know that it works on most JP online shops.

I've been using FlexDelivery for about a year from buyee, AmiAmi and HobbyLink Japan and some ebay and other places. So far so good. I've always received e-mails. And it feels safer than having things sent to home where they just leave them on the porch. As others have said, if the place doesn't send to post offices, it can be a problem (which has happened sometimes with Amazon and Toys R Us) so I don't use it for Amazon unfortunately.

I'm actually using them for the first time this month since it looks so convenient for me. Most of my orders have been SAL so I can't see how it turns out for me yet. I really hope they update me with email notifications consistently.

Polkadopolis (Vor 1 Jahr) #15171374I've never once had an issue with the service itself. I always get the notifications and now my local post office employees know me well enough that I don't have to bring ID lol

Same with me, but you should ekpt our ID with you. I once walked in the post office and it was a new employee that didn't want to take a chance! I had to come back the next day (they were closing).

I've been using it recently, and the only problem I had was when I didn't receive an email about a package arriving at the PO box. Emails are sent out automatically when they get scanned at the destination depot, so it's probably some kind of rare email glitch. Point is, you should still keep in mind the approximate time frame that packages arrive so just in case you experience an email glitch you can still catch the package before it gets returned. :)

Paulichu (Vor 1 Jahr) #15171365I haven't used it because most of the sites I wanted to use it on won't accept P.O. Box numbers, and FlexDelivery addresses are P.O. Box numbers.

Polkadopolis (Vor 1 Jahr) #15171374I started using flexdelivery because the worker who delivered my parcels kept leaving them at my doorstep even if they needed a signature. And on the rare chance he remembered to take them to a post office it was always one on the other side of the city orz

However do remember that it counts as a PO box technically and some stores won't ship to PO BOX addresses.

Thanks for the quick reply. The last time I checked, N-Y doesn't seem to have restrictions regarding POBOX addresses but in any case, will double check before requesting the changes. Good to know that it's reliable. Hopefully I'll have the same experience (on the local PO that I've selected) once I decide to use the FlexDelivery address.

I've been using it for over a year now and it's been pretty good so far. It does count as a PO box so make sure the sender can ship to that kind of address (this sometimes happens with Amazon or ebay orders). Also, there have been some email glitches, mostly to do with the way the sender inputs the address in the system, so it's key that it appears with all the info in the exact format given (that long string of numbers on the first address line) and don't rely on autofill.

There is an issue with email notifications for packages coming from the US right now, but this is a glitch with CP. If you have anything coming from the US (or from anywhere for that matter), be sure to check your tracking number either on the CP or sender's postal site every now and then. I almost had 2 US packages sent back because I was never notified of their arrival. I'm going to call in a complaint today actually.

Overall, I'd say it's a good service and I'll continue to use it; everything has arrived perfectly fine. The nice thing about it is once you get the email notification, you can pick it up right away. You can also sign up for multiple flex delivery addresses if you want an address near your work and home. I also appreciate that I don't have to worry about packages being left outside on my doorstep. They are strict on their 15 holding period though, so be sure to pick up everything before then.
