Hello fellow MFC members.

As most of you probably know because of the recent events (airports paralized because of terror atttacks for example), some events may have a big influence on parcel transit systems.

As it seems, the sea transit may be very disturbed for the weeks/months to come. You probably have already seen the name of Hanjin Shipping somewhere, as there are one of the giants from cargo freight sector worldwide. It seems this giant was made of clay, since they are now in a bankrupt situation.

As a result of this, a large portion of the sea freight is now frozen, and waterfall effects on the logistic lines are expected. You can find a little bit more information here or here, and probably a lot more papers in the days to come.

So be carefull with the shipping method you pick, until everything settle down on the deep blue world.

[Edit] Almost half of the ships owned by Hanjin are now stranded at sea. As a result of this mayhem, it seems freight rates are being increased by the company rivals (you can read that here).

SbabVor 4 Jahren#14444948You may want to take a look at the shipping rates again. As expected, Hanjin's rivals are now taking advantage of this and since there's a lot of clients looking for a new freight partner, prices are increasing.

Oh God, Ihope some other giant takes up the slack soon. Or else I'm gonna have a HUGE backlog of work ahead... Just like when the ports had a strike. EWWW this sux and packing air freight is even worst!

9.2.16 update:
Bay area Yamato ocean outgoing doesn't use hanjin vessels. Only incoming ocean freight to our warehouse can elect to use hanjin. We still have to deal with it if the port of origin chose hanjin ... I hope those beingdenied port access can at least enter countries territorial waters bc pirates !
