So late! April to August lootSo late! April to August lootLoot

EccmyEccmyVor 4 Jahren
Hi everyone!

Wow, this is one long overdue loot blog I'm writing here. Blame real life matters on that one. :/

Also, why does this blog only covers April to August? Well, I had nothing in October, and so far nothing in November (I'm waiting for ITEM #257209); and as for September, I had a big loot that will have its dedicated blog, but I won't write until after at least a few days -- it was acquired during a trip to Paris......

With all that said, on to the loot!
Like last time, there will be a bunch of Tokimeki Memorial stuff, but as you will discover, there are several many other franchises in there!
Full list of franchises in alphabetical order:
View spoilerHide spoiler* Eriko-kun, Ocha!!
* Fire Emblem: Awakening
* Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
* Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
* Girlfriend [Kari]
* Mitsumete Knight
* Queen's Blade
* Pokémon
* Punch Out!!
* Senki Zesshou Symphogear G
* Sword Art Online
* Tokimeki Memorial
* Tokimeki Memorial 2
* Tokimeki Memorial 3

Please also keep in mind I forgot to take photos of the shipping packages save for one, and I have threw them away since, so sorry for the lack of those in this blog. :(

LOOT STATS:
View spoilerHide spoiler* Telephone cards x24
* Scale and prize figures x8
* Amiibos x6
* Trading figures x6
* Nendoroids and Chara-Forme x3
* Dolls x3
* Mousepads x3
* Key holders x2
* Tapestry x1
* Pencil board x1
* Pen stand x1
* Trading card x1

Due to the overall lack of shipping packages' photos, I won't show you the items in a strict, rigorous order. I'll try to list them in rough chronological order of arrival, but some items will be grouped together when it's more convenient for the blog's overall coherence and narrative flow. Such as, for starters, the telephone cards I got:

I normally don't collect trading cards, and I'm not a Miharu Tatebayashi fan in particular, but she looked so good on that one, I just had to get it. :p
I really love those TM2 yukata telekas, and got them for cheap, too! Plus, Hikari and Maho are two of my fave chars, and ITEM #308081 came with its barcode sleeve to make it even better! (the other two are Tokimeki Club cards, and those don't come with such a sleeve)
Also, another teleka for my collection of Mitsumete Knight goods! Not the hardest one to find I have to admit, but I'm always glad to get goods from that old and obscure, yet awesome franchise.

Got five of the 14 Tokimemo 2 TGS 2002 telekas! To be honest, I prefer the design pattern of the TGS 2001 set (which I'm much closer to complete), but this one's nice, too. I don't care as much for Homura and Miho, but I'm really glad to have acquired Kaedeko and Maho!
And another yukata teleka, this time with Shiori and Saki. One of my favourite cards of this loot without a doubt!
The last three cards were part of a Tokimeki Memorial bundle. I already owned ITEM #284571 and ITEM #284572, but without their barcode sleeve: this time, they come with those! :D

Got four of the Tokimeki Memorial 2 Live 2000 concert exclusive telekas. All of them but the Shirayuki twins one came with their barcode sleeves!

And, three telekas from "Eriko-kun, Ocha!!" ENCYCLOPEDIA #93926.
I have never heard of that manga until I stumbled by chance on these cards at a telephone card wholesaler at YAJ. I found them really pretty (especially the one with the main heroine, Eriko, in a qipao!), so I bought them, and did some research on the source material. For the few scans I've managed to find and read, it's an ecchi comedy manga about the life at work of an office lady, with tea fetching and co-workers who have the hots for her tropes in full force. It reminds me a lot of Sweet Room? ENCYCLOPEDIA #75490 , except with adult contents (Sweet Room? on the other hand is completely SFW), and featuring a more down-to-earth and ingenue heroine instead of a ditzy, nonsensical one.
It's a 3-tome manga, I'll try to get them when I'll have a chance.
Some of the telekas from that series are nice too, and I plan to get them in the future (the more tasteful and prettiest ones, that is).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moving on now to MFC's main point of interest, the figures!
I do have saved a picture of one of the shipping boxes, so I'll start from there.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416261.png

That box is from a HS order. Around the same time, they also had a Bargain Sale which featured ITEM #199541 among others. That Suguha Beach Queens interested me a lot since its announcement, but Wave is smoking way too much greed weed since last year or so, there was absolutely no way I was gonna shell out 6000 yen for such a small, simple figure! So when HS bargained bin her for 3600 yen, I jumped on the opportunity! Unfortunately I wasn't able to combine her with the rest, so she arrived in a different package.

ITEM #236424

I've never played Girlfriend [Kari], but I find Chloe Lemaire's design really cute, and this Nendo of her is just too adorable! Bummer that HS put her in the bargain bin for nearly half her original price recently, if I had known I would have waited and bought her now, instead of pre-ordering her.

It's not as obvious as with Tokimeki Memorial and Konami franchises, but I'm a Fire Emblem fan too. While I was put off by GSC Tharja's yandere-ish lewd figure design, there was no way I would pass on this Chara-Forme Chrom!

Finally, those Symphogear Yukine Chris bunny girl keychains. I don't know that series and don't care for it (mecha and mobile suit shows aren't my cup of tea), but I love bunny girls and this design is so pretty, I couldn't pass up on this! It's really rare, but for once I bought two copies of it. I wanted to use one, and keep the other unopened for exposition purposes.

Speaking of Bunny girl Chris...

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416254.png

ITEM #235386

...I got her regular color figure too! Actually, I got her a month before the keychains. Apparently, because fans of the show were disappointed that the only figure of Chris so far is a bunny girl version, that figure's value dropped significantly in the aftermarket, despite being a really well-crafted item! Well, all the better for me, because for 6000 yen, this figure is easily one of my best purchases of this year! ^_^

And while we're on the topic of bunny girls...

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416258.png
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416264.png

ITEM #196288
ITEM #7702
ITEM #7704

I never thought I would ever get an anime doll one day. You see, the ones MFC users collect (mostly the ones from Volks) often give me an uncanny valley vibe, what's with their marbles-like eyes. But I don't have that problem as much if the face is painted like a regular figure. If so, they're basically glorified, real-fabric and synthetic hair-clad figures or large Figmas to my eyes, depending on the dolls' number of articulations.

So, I saw that Mira Kagami doll for a ridiculously low price in an auction. Since I'm a Tokimemo fan and the doll looked really good from the photo, I caved in and got her for less than 1000 yen!

But since the main selling point with dolls is the ability to change their clothes, I had an idea in mind...
See, the Tokimeki Memorial girls appeared in various fanservice clothes. Arts of them in swimsuits in particular were popular, and some of them, most notably Kaori Yae of Tokimeki Memorial 2, wore a maid outfit too. But it seemed like Konami put on a taboo regarding bunny girl outfits, as it was never ever used in any official piece of work in that franchise.

So I wanted to dress that Mira Kagami doll with such an outfit. But I wasn't sure if I would find a bunny girl costume set fitting a 1/6 doll such as her. If I bought such a set alone and it didn't fit, it would have been a waste of money: indeed, what's the point of buying doll clothes you won't use?

Enter the two Haruhi Suzumiya 1/6 Azone dolls! I always liked Haruhi and Mikuru's bunny girl design in the first place. So, my plan was to get those two dolls, and try and switch the bunny girl costumes of Haruhi/Mikuru, with Mira's school uniform (as, to be blunt, I don't like the Suzumiya Haruhi franchise's school uniform design very much). If the bunny girl costumes happened not to fit the Mira doll, it would have been disappointing, but at least then I would have had the perfectly good-looking back-up plan of displaying Mira in her regular uniform, and Haruhi and Mikuru in their bunny girl costumes!

End result: the bunny costume fits Mira, but unfortunately due to a weenie bit too small opening in the shirt part, Mira's uniform isn't compatible with the Haruhi/Mikuru dolls. Since the black bunny costume fits Mira the best in terms of color blending IMO, Haruhi will be stuck with her regular uniform until I can get an extra bunny girl costume.

Let’s follow up with another Tokimeki Memorial 1 figure now:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416279.png

Whoops, the Megumi figure fell on the table during the photo set-up. ^^’’’’’
Let’s do that again:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416280.png

ITEM #302088

A Tokimeki Memorial diorama! It’s a fairly large one, measuring W=25cm / H=21cm / D=18cm (counting both the base and the acrylic glass case), and it’s heavy! The package, which contained it exclusively, weighted 3 kg, making it ineligible for SAL Small Packet. The diorama’s base and the biggest potted plant in particular are unusually heavy, I wonder in which material they were made…

Before I got it, I wondered it the diorama could be used with Figmas… After testing with my Asuna Figma, it turns out the table and chairs are a weenie bit bigger than the Figma. So it’s usable, but the Figma may feel slightly out of place… Maybe it would fit better with Figmas of bigger characters than Asuna?

This diorama is old, dating back from 1997. The scenery is well done, the figures, not so much. Well, I think Megumi is okay (seamlines and crude-sculpted hands notwithstanding), but Shiori’s face looks a bit derpy IMO (especially when I think about ITEM #218807 , which was released in the same year, is about the same size, and has a much better face!). Still, it’s a very lovely setting that proudly stands on my desk now. :p

Because of the diorama’s age, both chairs had some of their pegs dislocated. Forunately, nothing that my trustworthy tube of epoxy glue couldn’t fix! -_^

Some more photos of the diorama:

And now to some Tokimeki Memorial 2 figures (well, more specifically one in the bunch, ha ha ^^’’) I was eager to get in my collection:

ITEM #11879
ITEM #11880
ITEM #11882
ITEM #11881

Those four figures were an auction bundle. I already owned Kaori and Kasumi, so the one I was really gunning for was Hikari, but I loved the concept of switching bodies between Kaori and Kasumi PICTURE #916769 PICTURE #916770 so getting an extra pair would be useful; I also plan to get all the 2010 prize Tokimemo Figure Collection line anyway, and the bundle was buyable at a reasonable price (2000 yen, which means 500 yen per figure. While most of the Tokimemo figures of that line go for about that price in the aftermarket, the Hikari one is more sought after and thus is usually more expensive than the others, meaning she goes between 800 to 1100 yen), so I grabbed it.

That Hikari prize figure was one of the last ones I needed to complete my army of Hikari figures: of the remaining scales, there’s only ITEM #17928 and ITEM #19425 left. Problem is, the Polystone one is limited to 100 copies so it’s extremely rare and expensive, and the Atelier Sai one doesn’t look terribly good (the final product does look better than the prototype, but it’s still mediocre instead of awful :/ )…

And, to finish with the Tokimemo figures:

ITEM #321737
ITEM #321738
ITEM #321739
ITEM #321740
ITEM #321742
ITEM #321743

A set of Tokimemo 1 clear version trading figures. They were part of a Tokimeki Memorial bundle. I really dislike clear figures so they’re just extras. Plus they’re made of a low quality gum-like plastic that makes them lean like crazy, it’s downright impossible to keep most of them straight for an extended period of time! :/

And while we’re now on small figures, I’ll continue with this:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416285.png

ITEM #59770

My third Nendoroid, after Sakura Shinguuji ITEM #94903 , and Chloe Lemaire above! I don’t know anything about Queen’s Blade, but Nyx’s design is really pretty and elaborate, and her price is ridiculously low on the aftermarket so I grabbed a copy. This Nendo is extremely beautiful, but too bad she’s really limited in terms of faceplates. Plus, since she’s an older Nendoroid, she’s difficult to pose due to the really bad arm stand. I can’t count the number of times she fell off the arm while I was shooting photos and posing her in the figure cupboard, thank god I did on a place with soft clothes below to act as cushion!

And finally, as far as figures go in that loot:

ITEM #224479
ITEM #265064
ITEM #224496
ITEM #224487
ITEM #300379
ITEM #254891

Got a few Amiibo! Thank god for the re-releases during this Summer, thanks to them I finally was able to get Marth! It’s also thanks to it that I got the Wii Fit Trainer and Little Mac. Got Ike and Pikachu easily though, and Olimar on release.
Now I just need to find Lucina and the Awakening Avatar!

To conclude with the figures, here’s a group shot of all of them save for the Amiibo (I haven’t opened them yet), the diorama and the TM1 clear trading figures:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416309.png

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now, the goods featured in that loot:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/05/05/1278811.png

ITEM #308080

A Tokimeki Memorial 2 penstand. It was part of a Tokimemo auction bundle.
The chibi designs, especially Kaori’s and Kasumi’s, instantly drew me to it. It’s very convenient to hold my pens, and thus is now proudly standing on my desk (displayed on Kasumi’s side), next to the diorama! ^_^

ITEM #308930
ITEM #302032
ITEM #302033
ITEM #302034

A set of Tokimeki Memorial stationeries, also part of a Tokimemo bundle.
Ayako’s dress design in her CD album “Message” is very pretty, so I just had to get that clear file!
As for the three mini mousepads, they originally were bonus items exclusive to Konamistyle when ordering the PS2 soft Tokimeki Memorial 3 there. I don’t care much for the TM3 mousepad, but I love the TM1 and TM2 ones on the other hand!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416288.png

ITEM #177481

And to end this loot blog on a high note, here’s one of my top fave items of the loot: this Mitsumete Knight tapestry! I got it for cheap, but it’s large so it required SAL Parcel to ship it. It dwarfs my first tapestry I’ve shown you in my last loot blog, ITEM #213186 . Proof with this photo showing them side by side:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/11/17/1416287.png

This concludes my (very late) loot blog! I hope you enjoyed it!

Media items are definitely my favorite "field" of collection stuff, so I'm looking forward to it!

There were two of them, included with Premium Box versions of the games. ITEM #305634 ITEM #305638 Honestly I'd like to just get the dioramas themselves rather than the whole premium box, but I want the Plus version of Lilie anyway, so might as well try and get that one. I think there were two of them for the Iris games as well? Though I'm not as interested.

Definitely, although I'm not very good about hunting down information on telephone cards, so I'm sure there are a few Lunar and Xenosaga ones I haven't found info on yet. I guess it's a good thing I don't care too much about the FE ones, since there seemed to be a lot for the Maki Hakoda manga.

X_X Too bad, because her scaled figure is really pretty too and I like her clothes. Anyway, nice loot!
Thank you very much! ^_^
Yes, not only clear variants make the character hard to distinguish, figures made that way are often of dubious quality to boot. :/
And I agree, Nyx's scale figure looks really nice too.

littlelionVor 4 Jahren#4790900I got Nendoroid Nyx too because she was so cheap XD She was my first nendo tbh, but because of her flaws (mine has) I just keep her in her box. I only keep her because she was my first nendo. But then again, maybe it's my fault I bought her based on the price and looks than my attachment to the character (which is close to zero. Especially after reading about her wand-thing, that just fucked me up O_o) I love that diorama with those figures, they look very cute!
Ah yes, the little thing about the staff indeed. Read that on the character's summary at Wikipedia and TVTropes... :/ I try my best forgetting about it. Worst to worst, I can choose to display her without it if my brain's not bleached enough.

Glad you like the diorama! Judging from the comments, this looks like it's the one item in this loot that attracted pretty much everyone's attention. :)

BearcatVor 4 Jahren#4791134Wow I find it very impressive when people collect one series so exclusively! Awesome loot and very nice job with your collection :) lovely to see such amazing dedication~
Thank you very much! It's true that I tend to focus mainly on a select few series, but as you can even see on this very blog, I'm absolutely not averse to buy stuff from franchises I don't know or am not interested in (or even don't like! I'm not a fan of Love Live, I think it's overrated and I seriously dislike the over-moe chara design, yet ITEM #285429 looks great and I plan to get it next year! It helps said original art's over-moe face didn't transcribe on the figure: see this comment comment/4344993 , this user's hit the nail. His reason for not liking the figures as much as he would is exactly the reason why I can like them!) as long as it's to my visual tastes.

maerynsenVor 4 Jahren#4814900Yay, the long-awaited loot post is here! I've been anticipating this for awhile! Seeing your cool loot of stuff from older series always seems to get me nostalgic for the older series that I cherish.
The diorama is pretty cute and not -too- bad for the time it was released! I've certainly seen worse from around that time. There are a couple of Atelier dioramas I'd like to get, myself. But, you know how funds and priorities are.
I'm blaming you for my newfound, growing interest in telephone cards. I told myself that the only two I'd ever want were two Lunar ones, but now I'm like, "I dunno, I mean... when I was younger I kinda wanted all of the Lunar ones even though it felt like a pipe dream. And those Xenosaga ones are nice... Oh no..."
Gotta agree with you regarding the Tharja figure, though.

Thank you very much, and sorry to have made you wait! I'll try my best not to take too long writing my next blog, also full of old-school stuff (this time, pretty much media items though). Hopefully it'll be ready during next week.

If I may ask, which are the Atelier dioramas you're interested in? I'm slowly playing through Atelier Marie so I'm interested. :p

Ha ha, the telephone card virus is a very strong one when you catch it indeed. :p
Especially since they can be much cheaper than figures and many merchandise, depending on the franchises and on the card's supply-and-demand ratio. Plus they're very collectible, often have pretty art, and unlike most merchandise it's extremely easy to own a lot of them without space trouble, you just need a few card albums and there you go! :p

theyasminshowVor 4 Jahren#4789781Power high five to Team Late Loot Post. LOL
I don't know anything about Tokimemo but I love anything old school. So I'm going to fawn over that diorama and then run away before I find new financial trouble, lol.

Ha ha, and I still have the September loot blog to make (which means: taking photos, adding a bunch of stuff (mostly books) in the database, writing and seting up the article), so yeah, I'm not finished playing catch-up. ^^''''

Glad you like that diorama! Yup, it has a pretty cool old-school feel. It's not a very common find, but it pops up at Yahoo Auction Japan from time to time at reasonable prices, generally around 3000 yen. The thing you have to be careful if you wish to get it one of these days, is the shipping quote, because it's impossible to send it in SAL Small Packet with its massive weight.

victorviperVor 4 Jahren#4789884Quite an impressive loot. Those clear trading figures are so strange, though! In this hobby, every now and then you run across these "they really made this?" types of items :).
Thank you! ^_^
Yeah, for some reason back in the very late 90s and very early 2000s, Konami had a strange fascination for clear variants (as well as white, and metallic variants) of their trading and prize figures. Not only Tokimeki Memorial 1 and 2 got an array of those, but so did Dancing Blade: Katte ni Momotenshi with the Yujin trading figures too! (They're not in the database yet because I wasn't able to find photos of all of them).

SeiidaishougunVor 4 Jahren#4789941While I'm generally not too interested in bunny girls, that bunny girl Chris looks very nice :D
About the Symphogear series, I only know that they had some extreme hardcore trolling already in the first episode, and I didn't like that at all. I watched 2-3 more episodes of it, but didn't like it too much and dropped it.

I can understand, there are some shows one's just can't get into. I had my fair shares of shows I couldn't bring to myself to like and dropped. Although in some very rare cases, it did pay off to persevere a little bit: I found the first tome of MÄR extremely boring and was this close to drop this manga, but I waited to read the second tome before making a final decision. That was a good move, because IMO the scenario became much better as soon as the War Games plot kicked in.

jesmagicchildVor 4 Jahren#4789958I really like that diorama.
The figures themselves aren't the best, but I love the concept of it though.
Also, this was a great loot post.
I love characters designs used for this game series,
So it's always fun to see a loot post like this.

I agree, the concept really holds the water despite the lowish quality of the figures. The old-school feel of the diorama helps dampening the quality effect, too.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the blog! ^_^
