karaya (Vor 4 Jahren) #2484811Grrr... Kyun-Chara are the bane of my existence! I ordered an army at the same time and my fingers suffered the consequences since i didnt know about the warming idea.
The only figures i can think of that i used glue on was ITEM #41779 because a piece of rock was detached from the chain during transport.
Also ITEM #27658 because his darn scabbard fell 232434545752 times and would never stick in place no matter what!

Your poor fingers. ;v; Mine suffered a bit with Rin and all to no success. Pointless pain. T0T

The Block Rock Shooter figures seem to be very delicate. D: Hope she's all pretty and fixed up now though! Yuri too! ^ ^~

Yuinna (Vor 4 Jahren) #2484173I don't glue figures unless they're broken. For example: ITEM #6588
When she was shipped, I suppose she wasn't exactly secured in her blister, so she moved around a lot and one of her twin tails broke off. It was an easy fix, but weeeeeeeh, I was still super sad that it had happened.

Aw, I read your article around when you first published it (I thought this sounded familiar! xD). ; w; I don't blame you, my heart would have sank. Well, at least she's all fixed up now. I've heard some other broken figure stories having to do with the Black Rock Shooter figures. They must be very delicate. D:

Thank you for the tips! I'm so glad there's alternatives to using glue, aha. ^ ^;; Quite creative ways as well!

I think I'll try using some sandpaper to shave the stand a little, but if that doesn't work, I'll try the heating method.

The stands aren't PVC but ABS, which won't soften as easily when heated. I'd file the stand that goes into the base with sandpaper until it fits in snuggly, but be careful not to shave off too much of course. I've done this with many figure pegs if they won't fit as they should.

Carmina (Vor 4 Jahren) #2484117You can warm them up for about 10 seconds with a hairdryer to soften the PVC and then very gently push them in. Usually works for me.

    Good tip!

CrowMaiden (Vor 4 Jahren) #2484071Is it that little L shaped white plastic stand? If you warm up both pieces in your hands or with a warm cloth and "screw" it in carefully, it'll get there eventually.

What do you mean by screw it in?

When I have a tough time putting my trading figures into their stands (case in point, most of my Higurashi figures) I tend to get a pair of pliers and hold the clear/white L shaped plastic stand part right on the bend, and then (gently) shove the figure into the hole. It helps me get a better grip and have more control. If the hole is too big or too small the solution depends on which of those is the case.

Unless they're the kind that have a piece that goes under their hair, if that's the case you kind of just have to balance them.

Edit: Okay it is like my first paragraph.
