MugenTenshinFRD (Vor 10 Tagen) #22253050Yeah, you're right. Never be too surprised if you find out about something, since everything is possible in this hobby. Well, I was confused too when I saw that. It's funny how game companies sometimes suddenly bring out products just for the "otaku" public. Still works though.
Ah, I see, it's one of those. Those aren't too big and work with many games. How much did you pay for it?
I usually look at the more modern arcade machines with bigger HD ready screens, but those always seem to be big and expensive. Did you import yours or did you buy it from Ebay or took it over from an arcade? I guess it would be ok if it's not plugged in an on all the time. By the way, is it difficult to switch out a PCB just to play another game or is it better to just use one at a time?

CC2 is just a bit weird and have been working with the Japanese kemono-fandom for quite a while now.

And I got mine due to... circumstances...
So I either didn't pay anything for it, or I payed about a year's worth of my time for it.
But it's from an old arcade-ish, so no, I didn't have to import it myself.
I don't really remember the cost of getting them over here either, all I remember is that they weren't shipped directly from Japan to here.
We had a middle man in Germany, I think.

And switching games is a matter of what games you run.
Some games are cartridges and need a separate board to run.
Switching out the cartridges and having the board plugged in saves you a lot of trouble.
Switching out the PCB isn't that bad either, but my JAMMA harness is pretty tight so it takes a lot of effort just to get it off the board.
My biggest issue is storage.
I currently keep all my cartridges, motherboards and PCBs inside the cabinet, which means it's pretty crowded.

SkyBlue (Vor 10 Tagen) #22269216I blame it on nostalgia :P Spent most of my time playing JRPGs growing up and I nearly cried when my mum bought me those .hack gasha figurines ^^ *sigh* It's always a shame that games got cancelled/abandoned by devs...
Actually, based on CC2's history, it's not the devs abandoning the games, it's the publishers who aren't satisfied with the drafts.
Unfortunately, CC2 have a history of not having very good sales on their original games.

Coffee (Vor 10 Tagen) #22243509Yeah, CC2 is the sweetest game developing company I know of.
And I can't say I'm the biggest fan of .hack, even though I really like the series.
I can't play the games, at least not the first one.
The story is really interesting, but the gameplay is just too clunky and slow for me.
Never really been much of an RPG game player.
But I'm always excited when CC2 announces anything that isn't a smartphone game or the next Narutimate game.
Even though I'd probably be more hype if they actually managed to properly announce these two games:

Coffee (Vor 11 Tagen) #22230849Everything exists, it's just a matter of finding out.
And sometimes, you'd rather not.
I'll just forever be confused as to why a game developing company decided to print a furry dakimakura of some original characters.
My cabinet is a Sega New Astro City ([ext link ]), and they're pretty space friendly.
Still weighs a ton though.
And to be honest, mine's not hooked in all that often, so I don't think it drains that much electricity.

Ciciely (Vor 10 Tagen) #22241527Woah, that Rahxephon is beautiful.
Yeah, it's really cool.
It's also heavier than I thought, even though I already knew it's a partial die-cast figure.
Not sure why I expected it to be lighter.
Kirenisa (Vor 10 Tagen) #22236542nice loot!
Thank you!
SkyBlue (Vor 11 Tagen) #22235985That daki is adorable~ I too have recently got my first daki (never thought I'd actually own one tbh). God seeing that PCB really brings back memories of my university days...And I just saw that you're a fan of CyberConnect2 so are you excited for .hack//G.U. HD remaster?? I'm super happy with that announcement and prays to see the first .hack series too :D If only other devs did the same for some of their classic games *looks at Konami*

MugenTenshinFRD (Vor 11 Tagen) #22229673That's a pretty uncommon dakimakura, I didn't even know those existed.
Cool arcade PCB too by the way. I haven't heard of that game though. Classic games are usually not the best in voice acting or sound quality. Before I've been thinking of owning an arcade cabinet too, but never made it happen, it's big and the electricity bill too.

ney (Vor 11 Tagen) #22227436It's the first time i see Yuji figure and gosh, she's really cute. I don't if it's the pose or the gentle smile but she's great.
Digitalized voice used on game of 90's are just horrible and this game won't be an exception.

I actually didn't really like her pose originally, but it has grown on me.
And yeah, Mira and item #117117 are probably the only Iwahara figures out there, not counting Darker Than Black stuff.

Digitalized I can handle, but monotone voice acting not even being the same as what's written in the subtitle field, that's another thing. lol
